What exactly does it mean to become a "SHAKU school"

SHAKU is both a philosophy and systemized methodology for operating a successful martial arts school.  By becoming a SHAKU licensed school, you will be provided with all the tools, strategies and systems that you need to be successful within your community.

 

I teach Jeet Kune-Do, Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, etc…). Do I have to stop teaching my system? 

SHAKU Family Martial Arts values high quality training and martial arts expertise.  Your style, system and lineage does not need to be abandoned but rather will be enriched and supported through the implementation of the SHAKU Family Martial Arts  proven school business and operational systems.  You will have access to a wide range of resources that will aid you in ensuring maximum benefit for students and high retention rates.

 

I am a Karate, Kung-Fu, TKD, Jeet Kune-Do, etc…) stylist, can I join SHAKU™? 

SHAKU™ Family Martial Arts embraces the value of diversity. Our philosophy is one of appreciating differences and encouraging unity among the many styles of martial arts.  Indeed "unity" is one of our core values.  Affiliating with SHAKU™ is not about following one style but rather it is about joining together with other martial arts school owners, possessing a variety of martial arts backgrounds, who share this open minded philosophy. Our SHAKU™ school owners exchange ideas and methodologies, enriching their collective understandings and helping all of us (and our students) grow in the martial arts. This is the power of the SHAKU™ family.      

 

Will I have to change the name of my school? 

We recognize that if you are an existing martial arts school owner you have invested and built a local brand in your market. We wish to complement and enhance that local recognition, not detract from it. We encourage the use of a "dual branding" approach in order that the goodwill associated with your school name is fully capitalized on, while now allowing you to benefit from a growing recognized national brand. 

 

I currently use a billing company.  Do I need to continue doing so?

SHAKU™ offers a comprehensive automated billing service that will save you thousands of dollars per year over the cost of your current billing company.  We will provide you with detailed analyses of these savings as part of your free business assessment.  For a quick estimate, just launch SHAKU's BILLING SAVINGS CALCULATOR. In addition to tuition management services and savings, you will be provided with the most technologically advanced school management system available on the market today along with a personal account manager and a host of web based marketing and school operational tools. 

How much does it cost to acquire a SHAKU license? 
SHAKU™ is proud to promote a highly "inclusive" licensing fee structure that encompasses a wide range of otherwise costly benefits and services for a school owner.  Qualified existing school owners pay an initial license fee of $7500.  There is also an monthly support fee rquivalent to 5% of school revenue.

How do I know if affiliating with SHAKU™ will be right for me and my school? 

Your decision to seek a SHAKU™ school license will depend on the goals you have set for you, your family and your students. The SHAKU™ system is designed to provide each school owner with financial, instructional, and operational tools and coaching that will enable you to attain the levels of success that you desire. What is the next step?
If you wish to proceed in investigating SHAKU™ as a licensed SHAKU school owner you will need to complete a Request for Consideration. Once the information is received and it is determined that you meet the initial qualifications, you will be contacted for an Interview and an exchange of information will commence.
