CO-FOUNDER: Sifu
Cathal Walsh
Sifu Cathal Walsh
is an
accomplished martial arts instructor, having achieved a 5th
degree Black Belt (Master) in the art of Shaolin Kempo. He
has over ten years of experience operating one of Canada’s
most successful family martial arts schools. In a town of
only 17 000 people, Sifu Cathal maintained a 300 active
student count school for three consecutive years before selling
his school in 2008 to focus on his dream of supporting a
coast to coast family of martial arts schools. His
leadership has been further developed through fifteen years
experience working as a teacher and principal in elementary
and middle schools in British Columbia, also serving as a
Provincial Standards Coordinator for the BC Ministry of
Education.
His
passion for martial arts and education put Sifu Cathal on a
quest to refine and develop the "best way
possible" to operate a successful martial arts school
that would provide children and families access to the wide
range of benefits that the martial arts has to offer, while
maintaining the integrity of the martial arts through high
standards for student discipline, knowledge, and skills.
Over the years Sifu Cathal has mentored other martial arts
school owners on how to duplicate his successes.
A
cornerstone of Sifu Cathal's philosophy has been has been
the recognition that schools require proven systems and
structure in order to be successful. He has spent over ten
years developing, refining and validating the SHAKU school
model.

Co-FOUNDER: Master
Sensei Jeff Hall
Master Sensei Jeff Hall started his
training at seven years of age.
He received his first Dan in Shorin-Ryu Karate at the
age of sixteen under Master Wattenabe from Baltimore, MD.
Master Hall started teaching professionally for Super
Kids Karate in 1990. With
this company he worked closely with Canadian champion Wally
Slocki and worked at developing the brand at later being
promoted to head of franchise development for Super Kids
Karate.
After a
brief time working in Orange County, California for Andrew
Wood and Fred Mertens for Martial Arts America, he was named
National Director for Martial Arts Canada, a position which
he held for five years.
Master Sensei Hall, a 5th Dan, has also been
recognized by the Canadian government for his contribution
to amateur sports in Canada.
He has also starred in a feature film, Reluctant Angel,
and has hosted his own television show, Personal Edge, which
was seen across Canada.
Master Sensei Hall has been a sought after speaker
for personal development and his children's character
education program Success 4 Life has been in infomercials
across Canada. Master
Sensei Hall still actively trains and competes in boxing and
kickboxing and is also Level 1 certified with American Top
Team.
