Leadership Program

SHAKU’s Leadership Program is offered to students who have set the goal to become a Black Belt and also wish to acquire skills that will aid them in developing as leaders in their school, work, and community.  Public speaking, team building, teaching skills, leadership philosophy and advanced martial arts are some of the benefits gained from this course. The Leadership Program may commence concurrently with the Black Belt Program and continues throughout the students’ training to Black Belt.

The Leadership course is divided into four modules of study:

1. Leadership Philosophy

2. Personal Growth and Development

3. Instructional Methodology

4. Advanced Martial Arts

Structured lessons in the above listed areas are provided to Leadership students each week and include participation in special events and seminars throughout the year.  Members of SHAKU's demonstration team, assistant instructors and school staff are selected from SHAKU's Leadership Program. 

Admission to the Leadership Program may only be considered after nomination from the school's Head Instructor.
