Little Ninjas

Little Ninjas is SHAKU’s only age-specific program that focuses on children aged 3 ½ to 6 years of age.  SHAKU Family Martial Arts teaches this approved course from The National Association of Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA).  The program focuses on monthly success skills that are built into a twelve month program.  The skills represent the inner strengths (confidence, respect, discipline) and the outer strengths (fitness, flexibility, strength) of the martial arts.  The classes are high energy, engaging, educational and a lot of fun for the young participants.

Parents interested in enrolling their child in the Little Ninja's course should begin by contacting your local SHAKU school and scheduling an information session for both the parents and their child.  At this meeting, details of the program's structure and reward system will be reviewed and the child will participate in a "readiness assessment" to determine your child's physical and emotional readiness to begin martial arts.  There is no magic age when a child is ready.  It depends on the individual child.  The most important thing is that each child's first experience with the martial arts is a positive one.

Little Ninja students attend two sessions per week. Classes are scheduled in the late afternoon each day as this is an optimal learning time for this age age group.  Space is limited in the course and wait lists are generally established periodically throughout the year.  

Graduates of the Little Ninja Program are automatically qualified to commence Basic Orientation.
